Helplessness and omnipotence inside you
Do you ever think how hard it is to be a man and live in this world?
We are born as small, fragile creatures that are addicted to others in their first years of life…That small we don’t know anything about the world that surrounds us. We have to learn how to speak, walk, make an effort to learn numerous skills and abilities, to learn how to write, swim, dance, and ride a bicycle,…Throughout kindergarten, school and faculty there are lots of challenges in front of us, tasks and obstacles that we have to overcome.
Do you notice that your body is inactive, a little lazy like it isn’t willing to move from the comfort of the armchair, your room or your house? The body asks for comfort and rest. It presses us often and hurts us. The body attaches us to space. You cannot be in two places at the same time with your body, it is limited. In the end, the body is a matter, it is wasted every day and is unstoppably getting old in spite of our efforts to preserve it.
In you, in me, in every human being, that psychophysical reality is present and it is our helplessness.
Stop now, dear reader, upon these sentences that you have just read and think:
Is my reality just that?
Am I only my body and psyche?
Is it possible that human life is just an empty passage through this Earth, from conception till death or…?
Just become aware: I am a person, I am not a plant nor animal, I am nobody’s copy, I am unique and unrepeatable. I have life, it is given to me, I am a wanted being, it is impossible that I am not here, I can never stop existing. I am a woman or a man and that shapes my mission because my female tenderness and gentleness or male daring and persistence are needed in this world.
I have my conscience and freedom, there are trust and irrepressible hope, I have my reason and intellect, remembrance and memory, I possess so many abilities and creativity, there is love for others in me, goodness that wants to give itself….
Are you discovering now that there are limitless spaces of spirit inside you?
You are created from the spirit. He revives every cell of your being. The spirit doesn’t have boundaries or obstacles. He is everywhere, there is no place where he isn’t. Whenever your body presses you, and you look into the weight of life and think that you are weak and helpless, miserable and fragile, remember – there is the omnipotence of the exact Creator in you because you have come from His hand and you are created upon His image!

Born in Zagreb. Married, mother of two children. By profession master of social work, employed at the Retirement Home in Zagreb. As a high school student, in 1998 she came to the Centre for Spiritual Help in Zagreb seeking help in dealing with her own existential fears. At the same time as going to hagiotherapy, she participates in seminars for new evangelization and since then she has been inextricably linked to the activities of the Community Prayer and Word and the Centre for Spiritual Help in Zagreb, where she has been a volunteer since 2000. She is currently working as a hagioassistant.
