There are as many people in the history of mankind as there are talents, man’s unique abilities. The text speaks of the Creator’s gift of ability given to whom he wants and how much he wants, but the essence is in the expectation of man’s response to accept that talent and revive it, to realize it in full.
How would it be if the greats of our history did not realize their abilities? We cannot say that Meštrović’s works could have been compensated or realized by Gračan, Jurkić or some other excellent artist. Imagine if Tesla had not been born, where would we be in our development? Every man, but every man, has his place in this space and time, the possibility of accomplishing some good.
In hagiotherapy, one of the essential laws is to encourage man to recognize, discover his originality and the meaning of his mission. It is believed that if man does not know who he is, he simply lives in this world. But the recognition of the vocation is preceded by the realization of who is the Giver of talents, who is the one who creates the person. Knowing the Creator, man knows who he is, he knows that he is already valuable because he exists. The Creator is absolutely good and man’s existence is guaranteed goodness, an inalienable value.
The source of all human suffering stems precisely from this inability of man to accept the truth as his Creator is. The insecurity of trusting people springs from this because the insults of others are reflected in interpersonal relationships. In the end, man seems to lose touch with himself and cannot discover or live his mission.
The consequences are obvious: man becomes burdened by the opinions of the environment, expectations and merits. He does not always „bury“ his talent, it is often done by his parents and other people close to him. How much suffering is a consequence of the „right“ of others to decide about our lives? Unfortunately, many did not even have the opportunity to be born to endow the world with their wealth.
That human co-creative ability that we have with each other is a great responsibility. Children are a gift to their parents, and only that child, tomorrow a grown man, knows who he should be, only he and his Creator know. Parental awareness for a child is all the greater if he is self-realized because from the personal realization of his originality he can „with the eyes of the spirit“ recognize the path that his child needs to go to recognize their abilities.
In the end, it doesn’t matter at all what and how many measurable abilities we have, but whether we live them.
Knowing our core values and what we can give the world is the reason for our life. If we were aware of this and responded to it, we would realize how much our value grows by valuing the success of another. Our standards are not good, that is the only bad thing. It is never too late to correct the direction we are travelling, it is important to reach the destination that each of us needs to reach.
What would be of us in this situation of the epidemic if there were not so many dedicated medical staff, what would be of our education if teachers did not respond to their vocation, if mothers did not consider it important to be with us in the early period of our life? But many doctors went to foreign countries to earn more money, some teachers thought it was worthwhile to work at school because there are long holidays, and some mothers felt that the career society offered them was more important than staying with their young children or did not want to give birth to them at all.
We still have the opportunity to respond, to recognize ourselves and the one who gave us to ourselves. I repeat, it is never too late for that. Find time for yourself and first look, in the depths of your heart, for the one who called you to this world by name. Give yourself time because that is the most important step. Without that encounter, you are still „wandering in the mists of the world“.
You are someone’s precious, a pearl in the palm of your Creator…, you are his longing and idea
From the clarity of that encounter comes the value and the knowledge of who you are. The response, with all your being, will give you the freedom you need to achieve if you are still with the ability to call, but also everything you can do at a later age. On a spiritual level, there is no retirement, you can do what the efforts of life did not allow, you can do good to many around you. You are what you decide to be, so decide for the good, and the open path will show you where to go. The goal is in response!
