LOVE INSTEAD OF GUILT
The day before yesterday there was a big storm in Croatia which especially affected our city, Zagreb. A lot of apartments, houses, hospitals, museums and other facilities were flooded. People again felt fear, threat, insecurity, concern. Some, like after the earthquake, had to move out of their houses and apartments again.
I listen to the news and I cannot help but notice how the question keeps popping out: Who is to blame?
Some call others and so on like in a vicious circle.
And I wonder: Does someone really always have to be to blame? Is it really necessary to waste your energy on speaking negatively about others and looking for someone’s mistakes or shortcomings, while at the same time so many people suffer, are alone?
And who can be the one to place the blame on another?
Do I never make wrong steps in my life?
Am I doing everything justly and correctly?
Who am I to judge?
Ask yourself today, do you sometimes look for the culprit in your family, among colleagues at work or college, among people you meet?
Does it lead you to good, or does it drive you even further away from people?
More than two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ, the Creator’s son, came to this world and brought us the Good News – that all our sins were washed away, that he erased all our mistakes, that he gave his life so that you and I could be saved and that we have life in fullness.
What immense love it must be when someone gives his live to save you… I am precious and important to Him!
Decide today to boldly step on the path of spiritual logic instead of being among the multitude of those who shout: Crucify him, crucify him!
We were created from love, it is given to us every day, so instead of condemnation, let there be active love for our neighbour in our hearts.
Let Jesus of Nazareth be your role model in this.
