A LITTLE ‘YES‘
Observing the world around me and all that is happening in it, it sometimes seems to me that everything is going according to its established course and that you cannot change much. As if everything is decided by ‘powerful’ people, politicians, leaders of various organizations, owners of large companies…. I sometimes feel sad when I see that man sets the standards for the value of human life, decides what is right and moral and who has the right to live. But then I remember a special man. He liked to say about himself ‘a little boy’ Tomislav, from the village of Davor in our wonderful Slavonia, and his life testimony.
His YES to the Creator’s call changed thousands of human lives. Mine too. His perserverance and longing to be the voice of his Creator in this world to the end and without compromise started so much good in Croatia, Europe and the world. Just by listening to him, many people were encouraged to save their marriage, not to raise a hand on themselves, get out of depression, forgive someone, get out of an addiction…
How important is our apparently little YES!
Are you aware of that?
A man and a woman, with their YES, decide to be by each other’s side and for each other for the rest of their lives. Mother and father welcome a new life with open arms.
With your YES, you allow the Creator to enter your life.
Your YES to a man in suffering may be crucial for his life. Are you aware that your YES to love and forgiveness can end a long-standing feud in your family or change relationships for the better?
Never stop thinking that you can change things and situations for the better and that things are destined to be the way they are.
Your ‘little’ YES can do unimaginably great things because that YES of yours is an outstretched hand to the Creator who can act through you in this world. And he needs you, he counts on you, he calls you!
Decide to say clearly and strongly today, not only with words but also with your whole being, ‘I decide for Good, for Love, for Beauty, for Truth! I respond to your call! I want to be Your witness in this world wherever You send me!’
In the days ahead, try to deepen that decision…
And do not forget, those who lead the world and its history are not powerful or the mighty… There is only one Creator, everything begins and ends in Him. The whole universe and everything created is in His safe hands….
So, do not be afraid! May your heart be strong!
Born in Zagreb. Married, mother of two children. By profession master of social work, employed at the Retirement Home in Zagreb. As a high school student, in 1998 she came to the Centre for Spiritual Help in Zagreb seeking help in dealing with her own existential fears. At the same time as going to hagiotherapy, she participates in seminars for new evangelization and since then she has been inextricably linked to the activities of the Community Prayer and Word and the Centre for Spiritual Help in Zagreb, where she has been a volunteer since 2000. She is currently working as a hagioassistant.
